Detroit Auto Show has been canceled

04/01/2020 Donovan Webb

With the COVID-19 outbreak, many facilities have been converted to hospitals. The decision to make the TCF Center into a hospital was made last week. On Tuesday, construction began to build a hospital to house patients who have tested positive for the coronavirus.

In the coming days, the TCF Center will be transformed to hold up to 1,000 patients. There will be one nursing station for every 25 patients and there will be separate sections for patients who are in critical condition. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Detroit District is running the show and the Federal Emergency Management Agency is paying for the project. It is unclear when we will see the admission of patients.

A June appearance?

The Detroit Auto Show is a big deal for American auto manufacturers. This year, FCA planned on showing the Ram Rebel TRX and the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee. GM said it had “big plans” and Ford was likely to show the new F-150 and/or Bronco. We are unsure when these products will be unveiled. The 2021 Detroit Auto Show, however, is still on.
