In a recent announcement by Ford Performance yesterday, the Mustang-inspired SUV has a date. The all-electric, and Ford’s first mass-market EV, will debut on November 17, 2019. Details regarding the all-electric SUV are scarce but we can expect it to deliver over 300 miles of range and will most likely have a 0-60 time of under 4 seconds.

We also know that it will draw design cues from the current S550 Mustang. However, we do not even know the name of the upcoming SUV. Some predict that it will be called Mach-E, a nod to the Mach 1. However, this is based on pure speculation by the automotive community. Pricing has also been predicted in the $40-60k range which is arguably the craziest rumor regarding this new product. It’s not crazy in the sense that it is wrong, but to be able to step into a car that can do 0-60 in under 4 seconds, have over 300 miles of (electric) range, and cost less than a new BMW X5 is pure craziness.

We are excited about the Mustang-inspired SUV and so should you. It is a step in the right direction for a future that is inevitable. Electric cars will dominate the market and we believe that Ford is making the right investment developing a technology that some other manufacturers are still behind on. We also like the fact that it draws styling from the Mustang which has been well-received by the automotive community. Stay tuned Auto Bison for the full details on the Mustang-inspired SUV coming in the next few weeks.
