However, there is a bit of roadblock in importing the new GT500. Australia would have to pass a new car importation law to allow<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mustangmotorsport.com.au\/\"> Mustang Motorsport<\/a> to convert the 760 hp monster to right-hand-drive (RHD). There is some optimism, however, that this law may get passed and conversions could start before this time next year.<\/p>\n<p>Converting a vehicle to right-hand-drive is also not very easy. This probably explains why the asking price for customers is going to be $300,000 to $450,000 in Australia. For reference, that is about $200,000 to just over $300,000 here in America. Here in the United States, the 2020 GT500 starts at about $73k and goes up over $100k when fully equipped. We expect dealer markups to be common but nowhere near the Australian asking price of over USD 200,000 .<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-419\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autobison.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/2020-ford-mustang-shelby-gt500-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"197\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The 2020 GT500 is the most powerful Ford Mustang to be released into production. We are hopeful that Australia will pass the law allowing the GT500 into Australia.
