While the Corvette C8 has already made a big splash with great performance numbers, an all-new design, and the transition to the mid-engine layout after decades of rumors, there’s another interesting rumor regarding the expansion of the Corvette family. While Corvette becoming its own brand seems like a stretch, it does seem possible for GM to create a line of Corvette-branded vehicles under the Chevrolet brand, including an SUV to fight the Porsche Cayenne, Lamborghini Urus, and other “supercar crossovers.”<\/p>\n

There are no details on this potential model at the moment, but it has been rumored that GM is interested in moving forward with a Corvette SUV. This model would likely need its own architecture, perhaps a highly evolved form of the Alpha platform under the current Camaro as well as the Cadillac CT4 and CT5.<\/p>\n

To envision what a Corvette SUV may look like, we designed one with RWD proportions and styling elements shared with the Corvette C8. The final design may have more of a coupe-crossover design, similar to the BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE-Coupe, assuming it even makes it to production.
