Here are all the electric pickups we know about, in one table. We are reporting what we know about; there are things we don’t know about. Not everything is comparable to gasoline powered cars (e.g. torque at the wheels). Most of these figures are not final, and some may be hyperbole. Electric car companies have realized that those who are conservative in their numbers get clobbered by the ones who give crazy figures, regardless of what actually gets produced. One company, we won’t tell you which, is still demanding $7,000 up front for an autonomous driving system that might never be activated.

"Bollinger

We are not including two pickups known to be coming: a rumored electric Ram, part of a joint venture with a company that understands electric vehicles, and a definite Ford, which is likely going to be a Rivian with a different “top hat” (body above the “skateboard” powertrain/chassis assembly). We took out the Nikola pickup since that appears to have been wishful thinking more than a real design.

Some of the companies provided a great deal of information; others did not; and it’s hard to know which is better. Two companies are mainly aiming for fleets, and at least two are targeting wealthy people; one is aiming at an almost abandoned segment, compact pickups with two doors.

It’s a strange, brave new world for pickups!
