The 2020 C8 Corvette has been one of the most popular cars to debut in the past year. The internet has been speculating what engines are in store for future model years. According to Hagerty, the C8 Corvette will essentially debut a new engine every up until 2025. Let us take a look at what GM potentially has to offer.

2021: Right-hand drive will supposedly be available for the 2021 MY. However, this may get canceled due to GM’s financial situation after the pandemic is over.

2022: Z06 arrives featuring a 600 hp flat-plane crank that produces 470 lb-ft of torque. A 32-valve DOHC 5.5 liter will be powering the legendary Z06.

2023: Like the previous generation, the Corvette Grand Sport will arrive after the Z06. This time it will use a 6.2 liter hybrid that produces 600 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque. This particular C8 maybe faster the Z06.

2024: The legendary ZR1 returns boasting 850 hp and 825 lb-ft of torque. The LT7 will use twin turbos as part of the 5.5 liter.

2025: The rumored ZORA trim will make its debut and what better way to commemorate a legendary figure than by utilizing a hybrid 5.5 liter that produces 1,000 hp and 975 lb-ft of torque.

This is a lot to take in and future plans could change. We would like to note that the hybrid versions will likely have AWD. We are unsure if the 800+ horsepower ZR1 will use an AWD system. However, GM has a bright future with the Corvette if this information is true.
