More likely, an ambulance or truck maker would buy them and do the rest themselves, perhaps using sheet metal and such from traditional automakers.<\/p>\n<p>Bollinger will sell the chassis with two or four wheel drive, in several different wheelbases and two battery-pack sizes; it goes on sale next year, but can be ordered before then. Bollinger is based in a city north of Detroit (it was originally in New York, but somehow the Northeast doesn\u2019t have the same automotive infrastructure). The company is completely owned by Robert Bollinger, who now realizes he needs to raise around $100 million more; the 52-year-old company founder is a cosmetics mogul.
