There have been numerous test mules of the 2021 Ram Rebel TRX running around along with some new details that have emerged. Here are some of the things we can expect out of FCA’s halo truck.

Powertrain and body upgrades: The TRX is expected to be powered by a supercharged 6.2 liter making around 700 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. If we were to take a guess at exact numbers, it would probably be 707 horsepower at 650 lb-ft of torque. In terms of body upgrades, expect +4-inch suspension travel, +3-inch track width per side, a +2.5-inch lift, 35-inch off-road tires (probably from Bridgestone), a heavy-duty frame, and active shock absorbers. There, of course, have also been rumors that a Demon engine may make its way into the TRX, or perhaps something even crazier. However, that is only speculation.

Pricing: The current Ram Rebel powered by a 3.6 V6 starts at around $45,000. If we look at the Scat Pack and the Hellcat Challenger, we see a $20,000 difference in pricing. We can easily expect the TRX to start somewhere in the mid 60,000 range. It may actually start in the low $70,000 range because of all of the significant upgrades that FCA will have to do to make sure the truck can handle all this power while still delivering “normal truck capabilities.”

Release date: Expect a debut in the next few months. Our money is on an unveiling at the North American International Auto Show in June of this year. Expect the TRX to be delivered to dealers before the end of the year.
