The 2020 Corvette C8 was one of the most significant cars that debuted last year. Even though only one version of the car was unveiled, a lot of automotive enthusiasts were thrilled. Of course, some were disappointed (mainly in the design) but that is not what we are talking about. What some enthusiasts wanted to see was the big and bad Z06.

However, they already saw the Z06 before the official debut of the C8 Corvette. It was the C8.R that was spied numerous times testing at night. Yes, that is what we think, and it makes perfect sense. The Z06 for decades was unveiled before the ZR1. It would be smart of GM to continuously test this beast to make sure everything goes as planned. Though power numbers are limited to 500 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque, we can fully expect them to be boosted to an insane power level. It may not be greater in power than the Dodge Demon (maybe one day) but it will certainly boast strong numbers.

If we were to take a guess at the power numbers, we would most likely say over 600 horsepower but under 800 horsepower. If we look at the last Z06 unveiling, it had slightly more power than the C6 ZR1. The C7 ZR1 has 755 horsepower and the GT500 has 760 hp so we could be around that range for the upcoming Z06. We should also expect the ZR1 nameplate to return but that is likely for the distant future. For now, all we can do is wait and speculate.
