New slant six/junkyard book, and more
06/15/2021
Did you ever spend the day in a wrecker’s yard, searching for the perfect parts for your old car? Did you reclaim and restore-on-the-cheap an old $200 junker given up for dead?
Gary Platz and Ed Dreistadt, longtime Slant Six Club writers, illustrators, and meet hosts, have put together some of their old material and a lot of new stories into My Slant On Things.
Follow Gary and Ed as they meander through the junkyards of their memories, full of slant sixes, camaraderie, mistakes, and achievements.
The book includes the “2,000 horsepower Valiant” which, I hasten to say, was nowhere near that power level), and other recollections, mistakes, and memories.
The print and digital versions are both quite inexpensive. The print version is 86 pages long, in a full 8.5×11 full-color format.
In other news, The rise and reinvention of Chrysler minivans is now available in hardcover, with the Kindle edition dropped to $5.55 and the color paperback dropped to $19.84.
In other other news, Dodge Viper: The Full Story of the World’s First V10 Sports Car has been updated and corrected, with input from another Viper team member, and reissued in paperback.
David Zatz, the founder of Allpar.com and the new MoTales site, has been covering the Chrysler community since 1993. He has written four books covering Chrysler vehicles and development.
