A 392 Wrangler to compete with the Bronco?
A little over a week ago, three versions of the new Ford Bronco were unveiled to compete with other Jeep vehicles such as the Wrangler. However, Jeep may have a trick up their sleeves to make sure their prized SUV is fresh and competitive with the Bronco. Mopar Insiders has posted spy shots of what appears to be a production-spec 392 Wrangler. On the same day as the Bronco unveiling, Jeep released the 392 Wrangler Concept.
The 392 Wrangler concept features a 6.4 liter Hemi making 450 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. It will do 0-60 in under 5 seconds on 37-inch mud-terrain tires. The Wrangler concept also features a two-inch lift, Fox shocks, and Dana 44 axles. The spy shots by Mopar Insiders show just how similar the concept and production vehicle are.
We are unsure when the 392 Wrangler will come to production (if it ever does). The Bronco will go on sale in the first half of 2021 so Jeep may look to make an announcement before or when Broncos start to arrive at dealerships.
