AutoBison Ford Update: Ford picks an interesting day to reveal the Bronco

Update: Ford picks an interesting day to reveal the Bronco

06/15/2020 Donovan Webb

Update: Ford has claimed the July 9 reveal date was coincidental, but has moved back the reveal to July 13.

Much hype around the Bronco has been prevalent these past few years. The Bronco will have a lot of off-road goodies for true off-road enthusiasts. It will have an independent front suspension, a solid rear axle, front and rear locking differentials, and a manual transmission with a crawl gear. There will be both a four and two-door option. Expect the 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine to power the new off-road SUV.

Jim Farley, the COO of Ford, recently said that the Bronco will be a much superior product than the Wrangler. Only time will tell if this is true but Ford has had a couple of years to benchmark their SUV against the JL Wrangler, which made its debut back in 2017.

The Bronco will be revealed on July 9. Why is this an interesting day? It is the day that OJ Simpson was born. Simpson is not only known as a football star but is also known for his wild police chase back in 1994. He was with Al Cowling who was driving the Bronco while OJ was sitting in the backseat.

Is this a coincidence? To our knowledge, not right now. The Bronco was supposed to be revealed months ago but COVID-19 has pushed the reveal date back. However, what is important is that there is a date set for one of the most anticipated vehicles of the year.
