Ram 1500 EcoDiesel EPA numbers are here! (How do they match up to Chevy and Ford?)
The Ram EcoDiesel is currently competing in a competitive segment. With Ford and GM both releasing their half-ton diesels in the past couple of years, it was up to Ram to make sure they stay competitive against some tough competition. The EPA has announced some fairly impressive fuel economy numbers that is ought to make a buyer interested. The two-wheel-drive Ram 1500 EcoDiesel delivers 22 mpg city and 32 mpg highway for a combined number of 26 mpg. The four-wheel-drive version delivers 21 mpg city and 29 mpg highway for a combined 24 mpg.
So how does this compare to the competition? Well, the 3.0 Duramax diesel delivers slightly better fuel economy numbers with its 33 mpg highway, 23 city, and 27 mpg combined. However, the Ram EcoDiesel edges out the 3.0 Power Stroke fuel economy numbers with Ford’s diesel delivering 22 mpg city and 30 mpg highway.
