Chevrolet Colorado gets a refresh for 2021
Revived for the 2015 model year, the Chevrolet Colorado was praised by many when it returned to the US truck market. Chevy has done a great job of keeping the Colorado fresh with the introduction of a 2.8 liter Duramax diesel in 2016 and the ZR2 nameplate back in 2017. However, styling has stayed the same along with some other bits of the truck as well.
But for 2021, expect a facelift of the current truck that will somewhat resemble the current 2020 Silverado lineup. GM is most likely feeling the pressure in the midsize truck market from Ford with their Ranger now in North America and Jeep with their new (and big) Gladiator.
New styling shows off a new grille that is almost a direct copy of the 2020 Silverado HD. Also, we can see how the area below the headlights is a bit more sculpted compared to the current ZR2. In the back of the 2021 Colorado ZR2 is “Chevrolet” spelled out in black badging.
Details about new powertrains, technologies, and interior refreshes are still a mystery. However, considering the new competition against Jeep and Ford, we can expect GM to step up their game to try and grow Colorado sales.
