Low-Quality Teslas Rejected By — Get This — Car Rental Company
Tesla doesn’t have what it takes to a car rental company, it seems.
Bloomberg reported that Nextmove, a German rental outfit, had ordered a hundred Tesla Model 3s, but after getting only 15, they cancelled the rest. The cars reportedly had paint issues, bad wiring, dashboard scratches, and condensation in the headlights; Nextmove apparently gave up on getting them fixed by Tesla and moved on. They may have been influenced by the availability of new electric cars from other sources, including Volkswagen/Audi and BMW. A Tesla rep argued that Nextmove’s order cancellation was not due entirely to quality problems, but also by “their frustration with an unrelated dispute.”
Tesla does offer refunds within seven days for retail customers.
