AutoBison General Motors Refreshed 2020 Cadillac XT5 Breaks Cover

Refreshed 2020 Cadillac XT5 Breaks Cover

06/19/2019 Ryan D.

After months of spy shots, the refreshed Cadillac XT5 has been officially revealed. Although this reveal is specifically for the Chinese market, the US-bound XT5 will incorporate the same design tweaks and trim structure changes.

To the untrained eye, these changes may not be readily apparent. The front end only gets minor changes, most notably an updated grille reminiscent of the Escala concept. The rest of the front fascia appears to be carryover, aside from the wider faux-skid plate. The side mirrors, rear spoiler and rear wiper have also been reshaped for improved aerodynamics.

On the interior, there are again only minor changes. The next-generation CUE interface is on display as well as a new rotary dial input method for controlling the infotainment system.

The 2.0L “TriPower” engine found in the XT4 is now the base engine for the XT5, making 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque. This engine operates in a few different modes, including a 4-cylinder performance mode, 4-cylinder efficiency mode, and a 2-cylinder efficiency mode.

Adopting the same trim level structure as other recent Cadillac vehicles, the XT5 is offered in three main variations. Luxury is the base trim level and along with the Premium Luxury trim level, includes bright accents on the exterior. The Sport trim adds gloss black exterior accents.

Stay tuned for US-specific information such as fuel economy figures and the expected launch date.
