Dodge Teases Upcoming Charger Widebody
For the past several years, Dodge has been rolling out performance updates to their popular Charger and Challenger to prolong the lifespan of the current cars. This began with the introduction of the 707-horsepower Hellcats for 2015, and in the following years we’ve had numerous color and stripe packages, special edition models like the drag strip oriented Challenger Demon and 1320, and other performance updates. Dodge also rolled out the Challenger Widebody, part of the “trickle down” effect that has brought performance gear from the Demon into their mainstream products. Now, Dodge is set to release a Charger Widebody.
The Charger Widebody was originally released as a concept vehicle wearing busy graphics to hide some of the body lines, as shown above, but this is clearly a production-ready car judging by the new teaser video.
Dodge’s video shows the Charger Hellcat Widebody under a sheet with the caption, “Something big is coming.” The Widebody package will be available on the Charger Scat Pack, Hellcat, and the new-for-2020 Charger Hellcat Redeye, and should add around $6,000 to the MSRP, and as is the case on the Challenger, the package will include the SRT adaptive suspension.
More information should be available very soon, as we anticipate a reveal in the next few days. In any case, we can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the latest update to Dodge’s big, brash muscle sedan.
